Easy gift card holders

Hey there!

This month, I have sent out a lot of discount vouchers for local meetups and events. Every time I wanted it to match the event and have a little edge to them to set them apart from other vouchers. Being a handmade business made it very easy for me.

I made card holders in the shape of little purses for a meetup that is to happen this month for mothers with postpartum depression.

Here’s how I made them. They are super easy and quick.

I used pink card stock, scrapbook paper, ribbon, double sided tape, score board, cutter.

For these purses, I used pink in two different shades and textures. Cut them in to rectangles measuring 5 3/4 by 4 1/2 inches.

Now comes the scoring. Place the card horizontally width wise and score at 2.25 and 4.5 inches (see the attached picture below)

Turn the card length wise and score at 1/4 of an inch on both sides (see the picture below)

Once you are done with the scoring, you need to now trim off the extra flaps. Trim off the 1/4 inch flap length wise. See the attached picture. Now you will have flaps on one part and the other two parts(including the smaller part) will have no flaps.

Your base card is ready.

Take the scrapbook paper 1/4 of an inch smaller than the card dimensions and stick it using double sided tape or glue. You can also cut the paper into three parts and stick each one separately for a more neater look. Punch holes on the smaller part’s score line. This is where the ribbons will be added to form the handle of the purse.

Apply adhesive onto the flap, fold it and stick it to the middle part forming a pocket.

This is how it will look after all the gluing and folding. Add the ribbons now and any embellishments that you want to add. Add Velcro or magnet dots to close the front flap and you are done! Easy peasy isn’t it?

They are wide enough to hold your business card and a similar size voucher.

Happy crafting! πŸ™‚
