How to make a quick greeting card

Hello!

Blessed Friday y’all!

I recently made a greeting card for a challenge and I wanted to share it with you. It was simple, quick and easy 🙂

The challenge was to use an intricate die to make a card. No shape dies or ornate frame dies were allowed. Here’s what I made…

I took a 5×8 inch card sheet and folded it in half to make a card of 5×4 inches. I used black card stock.

Next I cut out a mat from DCWV’s “everlasting love” .25 inches short in length and width

I then cut out a glitter sheet .25 inches shorter than the mat I cut out earlier. This made 2 layers of the card. See the image below.

From a silver metallic sheet, I cut out the die. 2019-06-27_21.22.35

Then I punched out a few flower shapes and leaves out of red and green card sheets.

2019-06-27_21.24.24

They need to be shaped. I used my good old embossing tool for this.

I also snipped off the leaf punch to make two bunches of leaves.

I glued the layers of the flowers together to form a flower and added some beads for the centers of these flowers. Then I attached the leaves to either side of the bunch and Ta Da!

😀

Here’s how it looked once I was done embellishing it.

And here’s another angle.

So, what do you think? easy ..right? 🙂 The camera was unable to capture the bling of the glitter sheet and the metallic sheet properly. It is sparkling like crazy I tell you!

Have an awesome weekend!

Sana.

How to make a quick and easy Gate fold card

April is a month of many birthdays. I literally can’t keep up with the amount of cards and handmade gifts that I have to make for my friends and family!

Here is a card that I made for a dear friend of mine. I just love the grandness of gate fold cards, so I decided to make one for her.

Here’s how I made it…

You need a deep pink card stock which measures 8 x 5 inches.

2019-04-10_16.25.42

Now score the card at 2 inches and then at 6 inches. Check the picture below.

2019-04-10_16.24.17

Now take 2 mix and match patterned paper. You’ll need 2 for the front flaps and 3 for the inside.

For the front panels cut them out at 1 7/8 x 4 7/8.

The inside slim panels will be the same size as above but a different patterned paper.

Cut the middle panel at 3 7/8 x 4 7/8.

Here’s what you will have once you are done with the cutting.

2019-04-10_16.22.21

Using a strong adhesive other that liquid glue, stick them on the base card.

Your basic card is ready! 😀

Now to make it pretty…

You’ll need a few embellishments … It’s totally up to you how you want it decorated. Here’s how I embellished my card.

I used the same pink card stock to make the flower and the panel. I used metallic silver sheet to add the extra bling to my card.

And here’s how it looked like when I was finally done jazzing it up!

I really hope she likes it… 🙂

How to make stickers from scraps

Let’s face it…

If you are an active painter, then you would be having a stack of failed paintings hiding somewhere. Similarly, if you are an active crafter, you will definitely have thousands of little scraps left over from the projects you have done. I can not make myself throw away even the tiniest piece of pretty paper… i just can’t.

So what do I do?

I try utilizing them in every way possible. My scrap stash would be the first place I look into to make use of the little bits and pieces. OR …

2019-04-09_17.15.36

I make STICKERS!

I make stickers and I make loads of ’em! They are easy to make and add a cute little dimension to my paper crafts. Here’s how I make them.

You will need:

  1. scraps
  2. double sided tape
  3. paper punches

All you need to do is stick the tape onto the back side of the scrapbook paper like shown below.

2019-04-09_17.07.19

rub it a bit to make sure the adhesive sticks properly. You  can use a wider tape for bigger punches.

Now turn it over and punch out the shapes. It’s THAT easy!

2019-04-09_17.09.46

you can also fussy cut out the shapes from the scrap book paper if it has any.

Now here is how I used my stickers 🙂

2019-04-09_17.01.22

This is a 5 x 4 inch card that I made using the scrapbook paper from my stash. I added a little glitter to the panel on the left. The strip in gold, the little hearts and the butterfly are all stickers that I made using the technique above.

And that’s it!

I hope you try making your own stickers…oh! and you can use them in your planners too… 😀 how cool is that!

Till next time…

Have a creative day!

Gate fold card 2

Hey there!

Salam!

My life is on a full force roller coaster, as if it didn’t have enough adventures already! I spent the last night trying to fit in all our belongings in all the suitcases and cartons I could find at home, while my hubby was throwing up all around the place. Poor soul is severely under the weather.. then we rushed to the E.R and after an hour or so of check ups and medicines, we came back home. I hope he gets better soon. 😦

So, coming back to the crafty life of mine… this card is from my previous makes, and the status of this card is – SOLD. 🙂

I love my DCWV scrap book paper and this floral series is one of my favorites. So, I made another gate fold card, which turned out surprisingly pretty.

Here is how it looks 🙂 .. I hope you like it.

2017-02-17_20.25.15

So, I added handmade paper flowers that I punched out. Added sequins for the center of the flowers. A touch of glitter is a must … hehehe, and the yellow ribbon to hold the flaps in place was the finishing touch. 🙂

What do you think?

I’ll be back with a few more intresting makes… so stay tuned.

Till then,

Have an awesome day!

Mother’s day card..

Salam y’all!

Here is another card that I have to show you today. It is one of the easiest yet very elegant folds, the gate-fold.

I enjoyed making this one because it was easy and quick to make and it can accomodate loads and loads of variations. 🙂

I made this particular card for mother’s day. It is spring time too so combined the two and came up with this beauty!

Card in a box… :)

Hey there!

Salam!

As promised, I am back with another fun creation. Last year I did simple fold cards, but this time I wanted some oomph factor to the cards I made.

One thing that I just can’t get the hang of are the measurements…. like 3 3/4 , 5 1/8 , 7 7/8…! I like things to be a bit easier, so I go with halves and quarters… that’s easy right?

This is exactly what I did with this card of mine… the flaps are 2.5″ x 5″. Sooooo easy!

2017-02-17_20.32.58

So, the card folds flat, which makes it easier to mail. It has plenty of writing space, and is just plain awesome!

I will be putting up a tutorial for this one… pretty soon.. 🙂

Till then,

Have a lovely day !
